No day is ever the same in ministry…

It can sometimes seem strange to go from one thing to another, to go from a formal meeting to popping in to church to visiting people at home and many other daily activities.

This week has been no different…

From creating some basic visuals for this saturday’s circuit quiet day, to visiting a member who thinks the Methodist Church is returning to it’s old traditional values (which in my view is not a bad thing in some cases, though she didn’t feel the same), to a home communion visit this afternoon to a lovely lady who has been a Methodist all her life.

She can no longer get to church and as she lives near one of my churches I go and visit once a month and we share communion.  We have been getting to know each other over the last 6 months and she was so happy to see me, though wishes she could physically see me as she is blind.

It was lovely to hear her say that she now felt as though she belonged to someone, being a long way from her home church which she has attended most of her life it’s humbling to hear that just because I go to visit she feels a part of the church again.

It’s the small things that make the biggest impacts… like all seeds we have the potential to grow into strong tree’s, but we also have the opportunity to nuture others even though we may never be around to see them blossom.
