Woodland Beauty – Spring

The colours change throughout the seasons

Come, sit, look, listen and bathe in its beauty

Every visit unfolds new hidden secrets, waiting to be unveiled

I see the branches waving in the wind

The dappled sunlight glinting through the leaves

The different shapes made by the trunks and branches reaching up towards the sky

I smell the smoke of the fire

The sweet smell of the young shoots starting to sprout breaking through the ground and the buds on the trees

The damp earth of winter drying out

Fallen leaves all mulched down

I hear the bird song awakening

Calling out across the land to remind us the earth is re-awakening

The swaying of the branches on the wind

Leaves flapping, mimicking the birds flying from tree to tree

I feel the textures of the trees, plants and the earth

The energising warmth of the sun

Giving light and life to everything around me

Bathing in that warmth I join with creation in its delight

Encouraging my desire to sit, to rest, to be apart of creation

I taste the bouquet of new growth

The sweet earth smell of the ground

The moisture in the air

I think that the woodland is waking from its slumber

Coming alive with colour, light and movement of the plants, animals and birds around me

I want to stay hear a little longer

Connecting my soul with the beauty and life around me

I am just one small part of the creators world

Created with love, to love and be loved

To be one with the world
