Prayers of Intercessions – Morning Prayers 3/6/14

Prayers of Intercession

Response – Lord, in your mercy please respond with hear our prayer.

Almighty God, we thank you for your great and never ending love which never stops seeking us out, never fades and never lets us go.

We thank you for your care that we experience every moment of every day, for everything you have done for us and the entire world in Christ.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for those whose relationships have been broken, whether through separation, divorce or bereavement, and those who feel unloved.

For those who feel rejected by society, those who have no confidence in their abilities, no place where they feel accepted with no sense of their own self-worth.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for communities divided by prejudice, race or religion.

We bring before us all places around the world broken by war and violence, for people who are displaced or scared for their safety on a daily basis.

Lord, help us respond to those in need, to those whose situations are man-made and those who are affected by natural disasters, starvation and poor living conditions. Give us a passion to act, to share your love throughout the whole world.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord, we pray for all students and staff as schools and colleges as the end of the academic year draws near. We pray in particular for all students and staff at St. John’s College. For the challenges and changes taking place, I pray that members of staff will have known your presence even if they could not see the direction this year would take them.

I pray for the students as they come to the end of this academic, for all the essays, exams and dissertations still to be fulfilled, and the challenges and hard work that this coming year may bring. I pray particularly for the Wesley Study Centre and Cranmer Hall, for the challenges and changes that have already taken place and what still lay ahead.

For all those who are preparing to leave this place, putting their trust in you that whether they are aware or not of what lies before them you walk alongside them to show them your way. Help us to feel confident in your guidance, and know that as you speak to each one of us in your still small voice, we will know your peace which passes all understanding, that quiet confidence which only you can bring, so that our burdens are lifted and our souls refreshed.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

Lord, we bring before you now all those known to us who need to know your presence in their lives… those who are sick or morning, those hurt and in distress… in a moments silence hear the cries of our hearts…

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.
